We are pleased to announce that submissions are open for the Special Issue of the Journal of Intelligent Material Systems and Structures devoted to papers presented as oral or poster at the 25th International Conference on Adaptive Structures and Technologies, held October 6-8, 2014 in The Hague, Netherlands. 

 

ICAST 2014 is the 25th event in a series of successful international conferences that have followed the field of intelligent materials and adaptive structures and systems, from its emergence to the current state of the art. ICAST 2014 aims at promoting research, development and use of adaptive structures and technologies through the exchange of scientific results and insight from leading international scholars and specialists from the Americas, Europe and Asia. The conference provided a forum for discussion of recent advances in the highly multidisciplinary field of smart materials and structures, and encouraged transfer of advanced scientific results from research to application. Topics included smart materials, structural systems, solutions and optimization, tools and methodologies, as well as bio-inspired system design. Applications considered included Aerospace, Automotive and Morphing structures, Energy harvesting, Structural health monitoring, Mechatronics, and Robotics.

 

Papers must be submitted to the JIMSS online submission system on Manuscript Central: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/jimss. For the Manuscript Type choose 'SI – 2014ICAST”. Please provide the names and email addresses of at least three potential reviewers. All papers will be reviewed based on the standard guidelines for JIMSS papers. Please submit papers as soon as possible, so that the review process can start immediately.
