How to reach

Conference venue Mercure Hotel
The Mercure Hotel is just  a  5 minutes walk from The Hague Central Station. 

By train from Schiphol Airport
Schiphol train station is situated directly below the airport. You can pick up a free baggage trolley from the platform. Via Schiphol Plaza, you can walk straight to the departure or arrival hall. There are frequent direct trains from Schiphol train station to The Hague CS.


Train tickets
Train tickets for domestic travel are available from the yellow ticket machines near the platforms at Schiphol Plaza. Tickets (for domestic and international travel) are also available from the ticket offices, which are situated close to the red/white-checkered cube at Schiphol Plaza. Staff at the ticket offices will also be able to provide you with train departure information.

Night train
If you are departing/arriving at night or in the early morning, you can make use of the night train network. The night trains travel once an hour between Utrecht CS - Amsterdam CS - Schiphol - Leiden CS - Den Haag HS (NOT The Hague CS) in both directions. If it is not possible for you to travel by night train, the only alternative it taking a taxi..

From Rotterdam The Hague Airport
To use public transport in Rotterdam, you will need the 'OV-Chipkaart' (public transport chip card), which can be purchased at for instance Ako (news agent at the airport). For more information about the chip card, you can check the website of the RET. Information about the public transport schedule can be found on www.9292.nl .
 

By car
From the A12 (E30) highway, take exit 2 for “P Centrum”. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left at the traffic lights. Continue straight on, at the 4th set of traffic lights, turn right and you will see the hotel.


From the A44 highway or from Scheveningen, follow the signs for “P Route Centrum”. In the “Koningstunnel” (near The Hague Central Station), take the exit for “P Route Zuid” then turn right at the traffic lights. Continue straight on, after the 2nd traffic lights, turn right and you will see the hotel.


It is advised to use GPS navigation, and prepare your car trip using Google Maps.
 

Visas and Letters of Invitation

Every international visitor should check with his or her local consulate regarding visa and entry regulations for The Netherlands. Please do this well in advance of the conference. If you require a letter of invitation to ICAST2014 as a part of a visa application, you must submit a written request to the conference secretariat (info@icast2014.nl) via email no later than September 6th, 2014

 

Note 1: Visa- and Letters of Invitation will be send to you after registration and payment of the conference fee. 

 

Note 2: Some countries have special requirements for the visa letter in addition to the standard information provided. Please check with your local consulate for any additional requirements to attend ICAST2014, and include these in your request for a letter.
